Beauty Queen's Product of the Day: Smith's Rosebud Salve (Updated)

This cult-favorite, multi-purpose lip balm soothes dry lips, calms and heals irritation, and soothes the sting of minor burns. Try dabbing on dry elbows or knees to condition, and relieve dryness. Also an excellent remedy for the treatment of diaper rash.

Even though many suggested it as a wonderfulcow lip balm, I find it to be a great jelly for my cuticles. It's pretty much Vaseline, but less greasy. It's rosey scent made me feel like a real fairy.

I'm still waiting for people to notice the change in the texture of my lips. If they comment onmy lips... I would simply replied..."Yes. I have Rose-Butt lips."

Oh, I don't have diaper rash.

Dear Grace,

Let's learn what crow's feet is all about.

Crow's feet arefine lines and wrinkles radiating from the eyes. For the most part they're caused by sun exposure, but smoking can make them worse. Years and years of smiling and squinting can also play a part in how they're formed.

Treatments

Sunscreen - Wear one every day and try to avoid prolonged sun exposure.

Moisturizer - Applying lotion every day won't cure crow's feet, but it will make your skin look more supple and decrease the appearance of wrinkles.

Tretinoin(Retin-A), otherretinoids - When applied to the skin these drugs help increase collagen production, strengthening the structure of the skin and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

Collagen injections - These will temporarily plump up the wrinkles.

Botox - I'm sure you have read so much about this bacteria on magazines. It's temporarily, and will make you look dead-stiff like Meg Ryan.

The Truth is, there's no absolute 'natural' way to get rid of the crow's feet. There are products that will help to reduce the appearance of the lines, but can never get-rid of them. It's either plastic surgery or age gracefully.

The Battle

On alternating mornings, apply a lotion containing alpha hydroxy acid and one with vitamin C. AHAs reduce lines by exfoliating damaged skin. Vitamin C's antioxidant properties help prevent new lines.

Before bed, apply a cream containing retinol, a pure form of vitamin A that helps build new collagen and stops existing collagen from collapsing and causing wrinkles.

Sun exposure accelerates the aging process, so wear a broad-spectrum SPF 15 sunscreen daily.
