22nd AIDS Candlelight Vigil NYC

Greenwich Village - Sheridan Square Park & Christopher St.

AIDS Candlelight Vigil NYC is a memorial to all the people who died of HIV/AIDS, to show support for survivors in addition to support for those now afflicted w/ HIV/AIDS.
This event is a nondenominational event.
There is no discrimination of color, race and/or sexual preference.
AIDS Candlelight Vigil NYC is not associated w/ any political, religious, or city, state or federal agency.
It's just a group of loving, caring individuals w/ a common cause, to remember & to show support.
Everyone is welcome!
Show the world & NYC that HIV/AIDS has a face & a name.
Everyone is affected!

AIDS Candlelight Vigil NYC provides candles free of charge.
The procession starts @ Sheridan Square Park & proceeds down Christopher Street.
A banner & the wreath is carried down Christopher Street. Supporters of those struggling w/ HIV/AIDS & friends, family members & loved ones of those who have passed from AIDS carry light candles in a quiet march to the waterfront.
At the end of Christopher Street @ the Hudson River waterfront a wreath is tossed into the waters in memory of those who have passed of AIDS.
This is an Official HOP *Heritage of Pride* Event

Starting We move down 5th Ave down from 52nd...
South towards Chelsea into the Village to 8th St where the Parade crosses 6th Ave onto Greenwich Ave & then left onto Christopher Street --> Gayville

The Pier Dance
You know one of the great things that Heritage of Pride does?
It grants the money they raise back to the community it serves.
One way they do that is by hosting various groups as volunteers @ the dance(s).
Like the Metropolitan Tennis Group… who will be manning one of the bars @ Dance 21
